Door Silencer/Stopper

Can you even believe it is the last day in April. I mean SERIOUSLY!? Where is this year going?

A little housekeeping first:

Go here to get your ad space(s) for next month.
I'll be taking part in this challenge throughout May, but you'll still get all the recipe/craft/sponsor post as well. Lucky you! :)

This little make all came about after browsing Pinterest, what else.
I don't know what it is like in your home where doors are concerned, but my little brothers bedroom door just won't stay shut.
I whipped this up in literally 10 minutes, and the problem is solved.

You could use these for so many things. It could stop your children slamming the door, ensure little ones don't get trapped in, or just plain keep the door shut when it refuses to close.
It's so simple too. You don't even need a sewing machine, or brilliant sewing skills really.

You'll need:
Cotton Material
Sewing machine/needle and thread
Wadding
2 hair ties
Tape Measure
Scissors

First measure your door from door knob to door knob, this is the length of your stopper. Then measure across the closing mechanism, this will be the width. (Mine was 5in x 3in).
Once you have cut out the pieces sew the lengths together, right sides in.

Turn the rectangular tube inside out, so the right sides are facing out and sew along the widths. Sewing the hair ties in as you go. (I found it easier to hand sew the widths).
Make sure you leave a little hole to stuff in your wadding. Once you have placed the wadding inside, sew up the hole.

Place on the chosen door and enjoy the simple pleasure of a door that stays shut.
