Candle Transfers

I don't know if you've seen these tutorials going around the internet showing you how to put any picture on a candle. For some of the them you needed strange items that I just didn't have.
Being virtually broke and going to 2 weddings next years means this girl needs cheap, but oh so cute and original gift ideas.
So I searched, and I mean searched for an easy way to do this.
Thank goodness I found it!
These things are so easy to make and you can make them completely personal.

I got the original method from Debbie . Here's my version with mistakes tips and tricks thrown in.

You will need:
Tissue paper
Greaseproof paper
Printer/stamp and ink pad
Hair dryer

How to:
The original method tells you to stamp and image onto the tissue paper, but as I own zero stamps this is how I did it.

Cover (very carefully) a piece of printer paper in tissue paper and tape into place. Put this in the printer and pick and image. A word of advice here. Quotes work best and keep it simple. Don't try this

One colour, a few choice words and a simple image works just fine.

Cut out the image leaving as little a border as possible.

Place the tissue paper on the candle and wrap in greaseproof paper. Hold tightly, very tightly.

Switch your hair dryer up to high and hold over the image for 40-60 seconds. You can tell when the image is transferring because the ink darkens. Carefully peel away the greaseproof paper and your done!
If the image isn't transferred just heat for a little longer.

Don't worry if your candle starts to melt a little. Just pull the heat away from that area for a second.

This is officially the first craft project I tried that went 100% successfully!

Next I'm attempting fabric tissue boxes. Wish me luck!
