Gingerbread Coffee Syrup

This is going to be my Christmas morning treat, along with cinnamon and pecan pancakes (I will post the recipe for these soon)




Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract



Method:
Combine the water, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla in a small to medium saucepan.
Bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. When done, pour into a melt-proof container and let cool. It will thicken a bit more once cooled.

Just add a glug to hot milk and strong coffee for perfection or just a normal coffee for total easey peasyness.

I made it today and it is truly amazing. Put some in a cute little jam jar that I'm going to give to a friend too. Its a little sweet for me, so when I make it again I think I'll make it just 1 cup of sugar. xo
